چکیده

The canonical transformation diagonalizing the one-particle tight binding Hamiltonian for an alternating chain with two non-equivalent sites per unit cell has been used to introduce the Hubbard-like interactions (on-site, intersite, bond-site and intra-bond) in the corresponding two-band model. The considerations have been restricted to the particular case, suggested by the undistorted 3/4-filled CuO3 chain, where the alternating structure comes only from non-equal on-site atomic energies and the gap between the two bands is sufficiently large. The renormalization group method has been then applied to the upper band of this model and the corresponding phase diagram has been analyzed in terms of some renormalized (density dependent) Hubbardtype couplings for arbitrary filling of the upper band. The particular case of CuO3 chain is also discussed and the corresponding phase diagram has been drawn in terms of the original (and realistic) coupling constants. A NUMERICAL RENORMALIZATION GROUP APPROACH FOR AN ELECTRON-PHONON INTERACTION

A finite chain calculation in terms of Hubbard X-operators is explored by setting up a vibronic Harniltonian. The model conveniently transformed into a form so that in the case of strong coupling a numerical renormalization group approach is applicable. To test the technique, a one particle Green function is calculated for the model Harniltonian

Persistent current of two-chain Hubbard model with impurities

The interplay between impurities and interactions is studied in the gapless phase of two-chain Hubbard model in order to see how the screening of impurity potentials due to repulsive interactions in single-chain model will be changed by increasing the number of channels. Renormalization group calculations show that charge stiffness, and hence persistent current, of the two-chain model are less ...

Renormalization group approach to the one-dimensional 1/4-filled Hubbard model with alternating on-site interactions

The one-dimensional Hubbard model with different on-site interactions is investigated by renormalization group technique. In the case of a 1/4filled band the dynamical nonequivalence of sites leads to the appearance of Umklapp processes in the system and to the dynamical generation of a gap in the charge excitation spectrum for Ua 6= Ub, Ua > 0 or Ub > 0. The groundstate phase diagram is obtain...

A numerical renormalization group approach for calculating the spectrum of a vibronic system occurring in molecules or impurities in insulators

Theoretically, in order to describe the behavior of a spectrum, a mathematical model whichcould predict the spectrum characteristics is needed. Since in this study a Two-state system has beenused like models which was introduced previously past and could couple with the environment, theformer ideas have been extended in this study. we use the second quantized version for writing thisHamiltonian...

Phase diagram of the Holstein-Hubbard two-leg ladder using a functional renormalization-group method

Using a functional renormalization-group method, we obtain the phase diagram of the two-leg ladder system within the Holstein-Hubbard model, which includes both electron-electron and electron-phonon interactions. Our renormalization-group technique allows us to analyze the problem for both weak and strong electronphonon couplings. We show that, in contrast to results from conventional weak-coup...
